Department overview

The Department of WBE/Apprenticeship/TVET/RPL at the Seychelles Institute of Technology is dedicated to bridging the gap between academic learning and practical industry experience.

* Work-Based Experience (WBE): This initiative integrates real-world training into the curriculum, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in companies while they study. This approach ensures that learners are well-prepared for the demands of their chosen fields.

* Apprenticeship/TVET: This unique 1-year certificate program combines classroom learning with practical work experience. Learners attend classes 2 to 3 days a week and spend the remaining days working in companies, gaining valuable skills and knowledge in a real-world setting.

* Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): The department is also responsible for assessing and recognizing the skills and knowledge that individuals have acquired through previous work or informal learning experiences, helping them gain formal qualifications and advance in their careers.
