The Mechanical Engineering Department at the Seychelles Institute of Technology (SIT) is dedicated to providing comprehensive training in key areas of mechanical engineering, ensuring that learners gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for their future careers. The department focuses on various aspects of mechanical engineering, including welding techniques and applications, machining and fittings, and sheet metal works. Students in the Mechanical Engineering Department are engaged in all stages of the mechanical engineering process. This includes the design, development, production, testing, operation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment, tools, and industrial machinery. The programs are meticulously designed to equip learners with the necessary skills, knowledge, and maturity required to excel in the workforce.

This program offers an in-depth curriculum covering advanced mechanical engineering concepts and practical applications, preparing students for a wide range of engineering roles.

Students who excel in the Advanced Certificate Programmes, Certificate Programmes and demonstrate academic potential, with the support of the Head of Programme, may have the opportunity to advance to the National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Graduates from the National Diploma program are well-positioned to pursue Advanced Diploma and Degree programs both locally and internationally, broadening their academic and professional horizons.
