Department of Inservice and short courses

Department overview

me

The Department of In-Service and Short Courses at the Seychelles Institute of Technology is dedicated to providing opportunities for individuals to enhance their knowledge and skills in specific areas, promoting personal and professional development. By offering flexible learning pathways, the department empowers learners to advance in their chosen fields, contributing to the economic growth and innovation of the country.

The department’s In-Service training programs cater to working professionals and individuals who seek to upgrade their qualifications while balancing their job responsibilities. These programs span Certificate, Advanced Certificate, and Diploma levels, with durations ranging from 2 to 4 years on a part-time basis. This structure allows learners to gain recognized qualifications without disrupting their career or personal commitments.

In addition to In-Service training, the department offers a variety of Short Courses designed for those looking to acquire new skills or deepen existing ones in a shorter timeframe. These courses are conveniently scheduled on Saturdays and during after-work hours throughout the week, making them accessible to those with busy schedules. Each short course is crafted from our validated programs by the Seychelles Qualifications Authority (SQA), ensuring they meet the highest standards of education and relevance to the industry.

Upon completion of a Short Course, participants receive a Credit Unit Certificate, which can contribute towards a full qualification. This feature is particularly beneficial for individuals aiming to transition into new career paths or aspiring entrepreneurs who wish to build a strong foundation before embarking on their business ventures.

By bridging the gap between education and industry needs, the Department of In-Service and Short Courses plays a pivotal role in equipping the workforce with the skills necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving economic landscape.
