Learners at SIT

Learners studying at SIT are from the age of 16 to 20 year and above. Full time learners including those on the apprenticeship programmes wear uniform. The SIT uniform should be worn with shirt tucked in shorts for boys and skirts tucked in skirt or shorts for girls. The wearing of the SIT uniform is meant to have learners to have a sense of discipline in them and to be identified as SIT learners. The pockets on the leaners shirt and skirts may be of the colour blue indicating the learner is following an engineering programme such as Motor Vehicle Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical & Electronics and violet (mauve) indicating that the learner is following a built environment programme such as Carpentry & Joinery, Masonry, Painting, Plumbing , Electrical Installation and Refrigeration and Air conditioning.

Safety First

Training in itself is not evaluated as successful if the aspect of safety is not observed. Learners at SIT are sensitized , and insisted on wearing uniforms in workshops and during practical sessions. The Unit on Health, Safety and Procedure is compulsory in every training programme

The success of learners is recognised by the award of certificates during the annual graduation ceremony
